Origin: Anodyne is a mutant and was born with her powers. Height: 5 foot tall Weight: 110lbs (7 stones and 12 pounds) Eyes: Green Hair: Black, straight and long. Distinguishing Marks: Large dragon tattoo on her back. Strength Level: Possesses the normal human strength of a woman her age, height and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. Her mutant powers give her above average stamina. Known Superhuman Powers: Anodyne is a fully active projective and receiving empath. She can sense what those around her are feeling. She is also able to project feelings into others, allowing her to alter their moods. This ability is closely linked with her other more significant power; that of redactive healing. Based upon her own body’s accelerated healing potential she can heal the injuries of others by creating a synergistic link between herself and the victim. She needs to have a basic understanding of the injury or illness itself to affect a cure, making her power most effective on wounds and trauma rather than disease or inherited pathology. Abilities/Special Skills: Anodyne’s special ability for healing was noticed at an early age and she was taught a great deal about how to treat and cure injury and disease using traditional and modern medical techniques to supplement her inborn ability. So even without the use of her power she can function as a field medic. Since becoming a member of Neo-X she has continued to study with Dr. Richard McCoy in hopes of finding cures for her friends, Lleander (Reaver) who suffers from a Crisis Syndrome brought about by the twin aspects of his human and Shi’ar heritage warring with each other for dominance, and Samantha (Joyride) who suffers from severe Muscular Dystrophy. Anodyne is also fluent in both Japanese and English. Weapons Used: Anodyne has been trained in many different martial arts forms and can use the weapons of those disciplines with ease. However due to her empathic talent she can feel the pain she inflicts upon her opponents. This led her to choose the defensive arts of Tai Chi and Aikido as her preferred methods of defense.. Her primary weapon is a bo-staff and she also carries two small throwing knives secreted in her hair.

Personality: Very much a pacifist due to her empathic ability. She is very easygoing and is very easy to get along with. Her reserved nature often leads strangers to mistakenly believe she is shy. However in a crisis situation she will take charge if need be. Personal Interests: She enjoys traditional Japanese arts. She has taken possession of a section of the Institute grounds and recreated a traditional Zen garden with rock, water features and plants. History:Anodyne was raised by her mother's family in Japan. The Clan Yashida did all it could to keep Mariko's daughter from ever coming in contact with the Gai-jin that was her father and she was raised with traditional Japanese values. Wolverine was eventually made aware of his daughter's existence and when he contacted her, she left Japan and has not returned since. She was first introduced to her father’s former teammates and their families at the funeral for Angel. After the events detailed in Neo-X #1-18 she has decided to stay with her new friends.
