Code Name: Ashen Real Name: Michael Tyrone Kovac (Prefers to go by Tyrone, allthough no one has quite figured out why) Nicknames: Ty Occupations: Graduated from Manchester University with a degree in mechanics & engineering. Worked for a few companies putting his skills to good use but left them with the idea to start his own business which never came to fruition. He is currently working part time in The Night Spot for his room and board while he concentrates on his *super hero* antics. Legal Status: No criminal record. Identity: Secret Aliases: None. Place of birth: Kent, England Age: 28 Marital Status: Single Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Known Relatives: Mai Kovac (mother) and Alan Kovac (Father). Group Affiliation: Extremists. Base of Operations: London, England First Appearance: Extremists #1 "Captured" Origin: Ashen is a mutant and so was born with his powers which first manifested at puberty. Height: 5 foot 11 inches Weight: 175lbs (12 stones 7 pounds) Eyes: Dark brown Hair: Black with red flecks, kept short. Distinguishing Marks: Some scauld marks on his chest, hands and arms. Strength Level: Ashen possesses the normal human strength of a man his age, height and build who engages in intensive regular exersise. Known Superhuman Powers: Ashen possesses the mutant power to manipulate the air molecules around himself to generate heat. He has to mentally activate this power and while he can heat up the air around his entire body, he can only project fire from his hands. The temperature of the fire he generates has been known to melt various metals allthough the extent of this has not been fully measured. Unlike other documented mutants with similar powers, Ashen is not entirely imune to his abilities and has several burns on his body from when he first discovered his mutant gift. The outfit he wears is flame retardant to prevent further accidental scaulding and he has goggles to protect his eyes from the brightness. He can however withstand the heat his powers produce without breaking into a sweat or his body heating up to a degree that he passes out. His mutant powers don't affect his body unless fire comes into direct contact with it. The only part of his body that seems to be immune are his hands, where he shoots the fire from. Ashen can also use his powers to create super heated air currents which push him through the air, enabling him to fly but there is no visible flame trail or aura of fire around his body when he is in flight. Abilities/Special Skills:Adept in computer programming and maintenance. He can also fix mechanical equipment and vehicles, he can drive and is also an adequate pilot. Weapons Used: None.

Personality: While on the whole, Ashen is a pretty decent guy, his overwhelming ambition to become the Extremists respected team leader is always foremost on his mind. He tries so hard to do things right but usually ends up getting on everyone's nerves. Because of the jibes and backtalk, he has a real lack of self confidence which is eating away at him. He lacks faith in himself and no one seems to resepct him. No one can take him seriously and it's probably going to take some time before the team do look up to and respect him. Personal Interests: Watching out for everybody on his team and studying the great team leaders in the whole mutant/superhero genre past and present. He is also quite partial to John Wayne movies and listening to old Tom Petty records from the 1970's-90's. History: Prior to his time in The Extremists, all we know of Ashen is that he met Janie Steed at Manchester University when they were studying mechanics & engineering. As the complete history of The Extremists has not been revealed, not all of Ashen's history can be documented. So far, Ashen has led the team on a few missions including a rescue and destroy operation of a mutant research facility and the rescue of Mavryk's sister, Caprice. Most recently, Ashen stopped the Pseudo Brit, Cain from stealing wallets from elderly people in a London cafe to raise cash for a ticket back to America. After their super powered scuffle, Ashen offered Cain a temporary job at The Night Spot to help him earn his airfare home in a more honest way. Ashen sees Cain as a personal project and hopes to make a hero out of him. Most recently after Facet's death, the team have disbanded leaving Ashen in the Night Spot with only Cain and Jaybird for company. He is currently figuring out a way to bring the team back together.
