Origin: Original mutation of overly large hands and feet as well as enhanced strength and agility were present from birth. Secondary mutation of blue fur occurred as a result of an experiment he performed upon himself.

Next-X History: Within Next-X- Several years prior to the disbanding of the X-Men, Beast returned to his research, first at Muir Island, and then at Johns Hopkins. His research lead to the isolation and mapping of the X-Factor genome, for which he won the Nobel Prize in Biophysics. He has since been granted a patent on the gene and collects royalties from research institutions around the world, which also study the gene.
Shortly after his Nobel nomination, he agreed to an interview on BNBC's "Tilby: LIVE!" The two had been on-again, off-again lovers for some years, and following the interview, they started dating again. After a brief courtship, the two married and had their son, Richard. Their lives haven't slowed down a bit, but they realized that in spite of the demand society placed on their lives, their love would always endure. They don't get to see much of each other, but do make quality time as often as possible.
