Strength
Level: Cain possesses the strength of a man
of his age height and weight who engages in intensive regular exercise.
Known Superhuman Powers: Cain is a mutant pyrokinetic.
He can create flames through psionic means and can control them, either
shooting bursts of fire or manipulating the flame into any form he
can imagine. He can also take control of an existing fire (i.e. one
which he did not create). Cain can cause a fire to vastly expand or
he can extinguish a fire with a mental command. His body is resistant
to all extremes of heat, not just fires he has created.
Abilities/Special Skills: Cain is an able hand
to hand combatant. He is not trained in any particular style, but
is an experienced brawler who has developed his own unique fighting
style which employs his mutant heat generating abilities at close
range.
Weapons Used: None. |

Personality: Cain is cocky and aggressive. Always
eager for a fight, he enjoys using his mutant powers to threaten and
intimidate people. Cain is ambitious, but deluded, seeing himself
as a master criminal and looking for chances to increase both his
own profile, and that of his team. Despite his many defeats Cain genuinely
believes that he is destined for greatness and has convinced himself
that his losses were all someone else’s fault. In fact Cain’s
grip on reality is more than a little tenuous and it is entirely possible
that everything he’s told his friends and the authorities is
a complete fiction.
Personal Interests: He keeps newspaper
clippings of his various criminal activities.
History: Cain
was a modestly successful solo criminal, using his mutant powers to
commit a string of petty crimes. He eventually joined a gang of mutant
criminals, both for the security it brought him, and also because
his ambition was leading him to commit more serious crimes, and he
realised that he needed help if he was to progress. Other members
of the gang were Ace, Sight, Vermin, Dwarf, and the leader; Rage.
An abrasive personality, Cain frequently clashed with Rage, but instinctively
accepted that Rage was the driving force behind their group and accepted
a subordinate role in the group. ‘Rage’s Gang’ were
extremely successful but tensions in the group led to Ace betraying
Rage and the Dwarf to the authorities for murdering policemen. When
Rage escaped the authorities he did not return to the group, and Cain
eked out a living as a henchman for hire for a number of years.
When Rage learned that Ace and Sight had joined the government backed
Wildcards, he sought out Cain along with Vermin and Dwarf to exact
his revenge. Cain was knocked unconscious in the fight by Sentinel
1 and was taken into custody, and Rage again abandoned the others.
However, Vermin and Dwarf broke Cain out of jail and the three renewed
their partnership, Cain as the group’s de facto leader. One
of the first missions that the group took was to apprehend the mutant
adventurer Black. This brought them to Britain and into conflict with
a number of other bounty hunters who were also trying to claim the
reward for bringing her in. Unable to capture Black the team separated
to escape the authorities. Vermin and Dwarf were apparently able to
secure transportation back to America but Cain was left behind. Attempting
to rob a café to fund his escape, Cain found himself fighting
Ashen, the self-appointed leader of the Extremists. The two mutants
fought themselves to a standstill. After the fight, Ashen, feeling
sympathy for Cain and believing him to be misguided rather than really
evil, invited the mercenary back to the Night Spot, where he persuaded
its owner Rachel Dunaway to let Cain work as a member of the bar staff,
earning enough money for his plane ticket home. Since that time Cain
has remained with the Extremists, but what his plans are, and whether
he has truly reformed, remain a mystery. |
