Personality: De Faux was ultimately a user
– he was completely amoral and would do anything to serve
his own personal desires. He was ambitious, cocky and self confident,
but could be charming when he wanted to be.
Personal Interests: De Faux enjoyed
gambling, drinking and socialising. He would also use his powers
to effectively ‘joyride’ in the bodies of people he
found attractive or interesting. Once he became bored, he would
discard these victims and move on to the next diversion.
History: Armond
De Faux was the son of a wealthy businessman who gave his son everything
money could buy but little attention. De Faux used his trust fund
to travel the world, associating with the rich and famous and gaining
a reputation as a gambler, socialite and playboy. De Faux had several
encounters with the police but his wealth and influence were enough
to ensure that he was never charged. When De Faux heard of the deaths
of his parents he returned to Paris, his birth place and took their
place within the Hellfire Club. Shortly after he arrived, the Red
Rook was found floating face down in the river Seine. Armond took
her place. He spent several years with the Paris chapter, but realised
that the structure of the Paris Club was too rigid to allow him
to ascend further. During a visit to the New York chapter of the
Club, Armond decided to renounce his membership of the French Chapter
and attempt to join the American Inner Circle. He apparently did
this for a variety of reasons, but chief among them was that the
American Chapter was in turmoil following the assassination of the
White King, and De Faux believed he would be able to profit from
this. He believed the Black King to be a weak and ineffectual leader
and thought he could rise to the top of the Lords Cardinal. De Faux
was accepted as White Bishop of the Inner Circle, but shortly after
this he slept with the Black King’s fiancée, Krystil
Frost, who was under the psychic domination of another member of
the Inner Circle. When the Black King learned of this, he summoned
De Faux to his office and then murdered him.
