Personality: Self serving and manipulative,
Deuce was always looking out for himself. Deuce was a consummate
actor. He completely fooled Ace and Jacks into liking and trusting
him, and played the government and the Diabolos against each other.
Personal Interests: Unrevealed.
History: Little
is known about Deuce’s past. It is known that he was imprisoned
in the Vault for a string of robberies and for the murder of a policeman.
Deuce claimed that he did not kill the policeman, who had been killed
by his own partner. The partner then blamed Deuce, whose version
of the story was not believed.
During his time as a thief, Deuce met the mutant Trace who later
related a story Deuce had told him about his family. Deuce had claimed
to be the nephew of Jamie Madrox a.k.a. Multiple Man. Bearing in
mind Deuce’s deceitful nature, the accuracy of both of these
stories has to be questioned.
Despite his crimes, Deuce was offered a pardon in return for taking
part in a special mission for the government, infiltrating the Diabolos
gang along with Ace and Jacks. The three successfully infiltrated
the gang, but, impressed with the power demonstrated by the Diabolos,
Deuce switched sides. Using his double to keep his team mates occupied,
Deuce betrayed them to the Diabolos and began to lead them into
a trap. As he did this he was keeping in touch with their government
superiors, informing them that the mission was going well.
Deuce joined the Diabolos as the trap was sprung, fatally shooting
Jacks in the back. Later in the fight, Deuce was apparently killed
by Ace, who cut his throat with a jagged shard of metal given to
him by Jacks.
