Personality: Protective and loyal to his friends, Javal was deeply suspicious of technology, which he blamed for the destruction of the Savage Land. However he seems to have overcome this, and had learned to fly the shuttlecraft that Brainchild gave the Hellions.

History: Javal is a hunter from the Savage Land who survived the attack that destroyed his home by sheltering in caves along with Kylie Lycos (Raptor). Both of them lost their families in the attack and Javal became very protective of the girl, becoming her surrogate big brother. When Kylie allowed Brainchild to mutate her into Raptor, Javal stayed with her, although he apparently refused to submit to the genetic accelerators himself. Brainchild dispatched Raptor and other mutated Savage Land natives to New York to abduct the Hellion Teryn. He believed that he could use Teryn’s powers to regenerate the land. Javal went with them, the only human member of the Savages. However Javal went more because of his friendship with Raptor than his belief in their mission. He did not trust Brainchild and believed that he was using the Savages for his own purposes. The mission was a success and Teryn was brought back to the Savage Land. However Javal’s doubts continued and he was easily persuaded by Teryn’s allies Touch and the White Queen to help them rescue her. The land was at least partially restored, however, the procedure was interrupted and Brainchild was killed. Javal’s current whereabouts are unknown, but he is presumably still active in the Savage Land.
