Personality: Marushi is bitter over his father’s treatment of him. He believes that others have denied him what is rightfully his, and he is ruthlessly determined to claim his father’s seat on the Inner Circle.

History: Marcus Marushi is the son of William Marushi, Lord Cardinal and White King of the Hellfire Club’s Inner Circle. The White King had apparently broken off contact with his son because he did not want to expose his family to the dangerous life he led as a member of the Hellfire Club. The White King did not reveal that he had a son to any of the other members of the Inner Circle.
Marcus Marushi’s early life remains a mystery. He is apparently not a mutant, but has acquired his superhuman powers through other means, which have not yet been revealed. Recently, he was contacted by both the Black King and Black Bishop of the Hellfire Club, who had learned of his existence. Both separately invited Marushi to attend a party at the Hellfire Club brownstone. The Bishop did this to cause embarrassment to the White King, while the King’s motives were more sinister. The Black King promised Marcus that if he killed his father, he would allow him to take William Marushi’s place on the Inner Circle. The White King was indeed killed, but not by Marushi. The Black King therefore refused to honour their arrangement and warned Marushi never to contact him again.
Marushi’s current activities remain unknown. He has sworn revenge on the Hellfire Club and on the Black King in particular, but what he will do, and the identity of the woman who he holds captive in his New York penthouse, remains a mystery.
