Personality: Gary is easy going and enjoys life. Nothing seems to worry him, including the problems that have entered his life now that his flatmate Carrie Conway has become Spitfire. Gary always sees the positive side of a situation, never letting reality get in the way of his view of the world.
Personal Interests: Having a good time and doing as little work as he can. Gary enjoys working on his car and socialising. He plays football (badly, but with enthusiasm).
History: Little has been revealed of Gary McGuiness’ life before he attended Braddock University. It is known that he met Carrie Conway (Spitfire), Nick Smith and Kate Bixby during the first few lectures in English Literature, and that they later moved in together in a run down student house not far from the campus. Gary has spent his time at Braddock doing as little work as he can, giving his full attention to the social side of university life.
Spitfire’s family and friends became targets for the Hellfire Club, who threatened their lives if Spitfire did not obey the club. Believing that Spitfire had betrayed them, the Club attacked their house and Gary was badly injured and left in a coma. Spitfire and her friends searched without success for a cure to his condition. Ultimately, during the demonic invasion of Earth led by the Horde, the magician Conjur restored Gary to full health.
