Code Name: Polaris
Real Name: Lorna Dane. Her biological parents were reportedly killed in a plane crash shortly after her birth. She was then adopted by the Danes, presumably her mother's sister and brother-in-law. The Danes never told Lorna that they were not her true parents because they feared that the knowledge would traumatize her. Lorna didn't learn about the truth about her heritage until she was nearly 20 years old.

Abilities/Special Skills: Polaris has a degree in geophysics.

Personality: Despite her regal duties, Polaris is very down to Earth and easy to get along with. She once had an inferiority complex brought on by her former relationship with Havok (Alex Summers) in that she stressed about her weight and his perpetual abandoning ways (some his fault, some not) which always left her picking up the pieces.
Lorna is now stronger than ever as a person. She still doesn't feel entirely comfortable with her role in Genosha as far as formailties and leadership are concerned but deals with it expertly so that you wouldn't notice her inner discomfort.

Personal Interests: Lorna is a big reader and has taken an avid interest in her daughter's upbringing, refusing too much help from any Nannies. She also holds degrees in geophysics and enjoys doing research in that field.
Next-X History:
Some time after Alex (Havok) disappeared, Lorna took on the role as an Acolyte in Genosha. During a civil war there, she was able to assist Genosha's ruler, Magneto by amplifying his powers. The backlash side effect also increased her magnetic abilities as well.
Later, the two married and had one daughter, Contessa Danae Lehnsherr (Tesla).
Some time later, during the period when the a hybrid strain of the Techno/Legacy Virus was rampant, taking the lives of various mutants, Magneto himself was threatened by this fatal disease. Lorna sent her daughter to New York to call upon the help of her former mentor, Charles Xavier/Professor X. She knew that his sense of compassion and the friendship that he once shared with her husband would bring him to Genosha where, if for no other reason, the two men could reconcile their differences and say their last goodbyes. However, thanks to Xavier, Katya Rasputin and Jade Logan (Neo-X's Valence and Anodyne) they were able to cure Lorna's dying husband, but at the price of his mutant powers.
The intricacies of Lorna's Next-X history have not been revealed at this time.
