Personality: Pryor Shaw is arrogant and supremely
confident in himself. His failures he attributes to the unfairness
of other people who he blames for keeping him down. Shaw is openly
ambitious and has clashed repeatedly with the other members of the
Inner Circle.
Personal Interests: Unknown.
History: For
many years, Pryor Shaw believed himself to be the son of the time
travelling mutant Trevor Fitzroy. Like his supposed father, Pryor
served as Rook of the Hellfire Club, but could ascend no higher
because of Fitzroy’s lowly status as the servant of Selene.
Pryor’s progress was repeatedly blocked by William Marushi,
the White King, and the two frequently clashed. These arguments
nearly cost Pryor his life on several occasions. Pryor’s hatred
of the White King was inflamed when he learned that his real father
was not Fitzroy at all, but Sebastian Shaw, a former Black King
of the Club, and that Marushi had known this and kept it from him.
The revelation about Shaw meant that there were no restrictions
on Pryor advancing within the Inner Circle. Following Marushi’s
murder, the Inner Circle was reorganised, and Pryor was elevated
to the rank of Black Bishop. However, Pryor Shaw is tremendously
ambitious and is unlikely to settle for Black Bishop.
