Group Affiliation: Neo-X
Base of Operations: Xavier Institute For Higher Learning, Manchester County, New York.
First Appearance: Neo-X #1 "Funeral for a Friend".
Origin: Transit is a mutant and was born with his powers. Up until his encounter with the Phalanx, Daniel possessed long-range teleportation abilities. During the battle, Daniel’s latent magic abilities were jump-started by the trio of Clea Strange, The Scarlet Witch, and Magik. As a result, Daniel’s skin was bleached white, and he can now channel ambient mystical energies for a variety of effects.
Height: 5 foot 10 inches
Weight: 155lbs (11 stones and 1 pound)
Eyes: Green
Hair: Auburn red, straight and long.
Distinguishing Marks: Daniel’s skin was bleached white from an energy feedback when his mage abilities were forced into operancy.
Strength Level: Transit possesses the normal human strength of a man his age, height and build who engages in intensive regular exercise.
Known Superhuman Powers: Daniel has the ability to teleport himself and other objects across great distances. Following the Phalanx Attack and Daniel’s rise of magical powers, he became a galactic-level telemport. He has an uncanny “Seeker Sense” which allows him to triangulate almost any coordinate, and if he is sufficiently rested, can teleport himself across vast distances. His Seeker Sense can be thrown off slightly by intense electro-magnetic pulses. As a magic user, Daniel can channel ambient mystical energy for a variety of defensive bolts, shields, wards of protection, and the like. He has also been gifted with a pair of mage blades, which also allow him to channel mystical energy. The long sword has the ability to shatter/negate existing magical spells, and the dagger allows Daniel to ground himself with pools of mystical energy. Daniel has named the blades Spellbreaker and Spellbinder respectively.
Abilities/Special Skills: Daniel is a highly skilled swordsman. He is extremely agile and is an Olympic level gymnast. Much of this training was passed down from his father, Nightcrawler. He speaks both German and English, and has a mild German accent.
Weapons Used: Daniel can summon his mage blades at will. They can function as traditional weapons, or mystical talismans depending on the need.
Personality: Daniel is pretty easy-going, but can be strong-willed and stubborn in his convictions. Like most teens, he often shows a rebellious nature towards his parents. Its difficult enough to not only be a mutant growing up with the pressures of power and responsibilities, but to also be the child of a missionary priest sometimes gets on Daniel’s nerves.
Personal Interests: Daniel spends much of his time defending his sister, Freelove’s honor. Her mutant powers of illusion more often than not tie in with the human libido, and Daniel has to be vigilant to ensure her honor stays in tact.
History: DDaniel grew up in Germany, where his father, Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler served as a priest in a small parish. For years Daniel and Kurt were at odds with one another over the subject of religion, and Daniel’s apparent rejection of the tenants of the Catholic Church. It wasn’t until a series of events during the Phalanx Attack that Daniel came to a very personal crossroads. He has come to accept his father’s belief in a divine creator, but pursues his own pathway to God. He still loathes the concept of a cold and rigid system of beliefs - especially that of the Catholic faith, but at least he now has more of a common ground with his father, and the two have grown closer than they ever thought possible.
