History: Following his departure from the X-Men, Logan returned to his old stomping grounds in Canada where he became once again involved with Department H. How he came to be in charge of the department is as yet unknown, but his first priority was to make it less of a shadow organization. He then re-instituted the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Flight programs in an effort to train what few Canadian super powers still existed, and to better prepare the country for a possible showdown with Genosha. He has a long-running hatred for Magneto and even though the man had been relatively low key, Wolverine was convinced that a leopard can never change his spots, and that it was only a matter of time before Magneto made another attempt at world domination. He wanted to make sure he and his country were ready should the occasion ever arise.
In a twist of irony, Logan was present when Magneto was on his deathbed, ravaged by the hybrid Techno/Legacy Virus. He had accompanied his newly found daughter, Jade, to the island to make sure that nothing bad happened to her. The events leading to his discover of his daughter have yet to me revealed. It was during this time, that he discovered that despite his hatred for Magneto, he did truly respect the man, and was disturbed by how the earth’s mightiest mutant had been laid low by such a tiny thing as a virus. He no longer takes his formidable healing factor for granted.
He is currently tying up loose ends with Department H, and has tendered his resignation. He plans to return to the U.S. so that he can be closer to his daughter.
